Edward Mansel Child-Villiers was born on 3 May 1913.3 He was the son of George Henry Robert Child-Villiers, 8th Earl of the Island of Jersey and Lady Cynthia Almina Constance Mary Needham.3 He married, firstly, Mary Barbara Frampton, daughter of Captain William John Goulburn Shipden Frampton, on 5 April 1934.3 He and Mary Barbara Frampton were divorced in 1940.3 He married, secondly, Principessa Maria Gloria Pignatelli Aragona Cortez, daughter of Principe Antonio Pignatelli Aragona Cortez, Duca di Terranova, on 1 March 1946.3 He died on 9 March 1980 at age 66.3
