     William Bell was born in 1784.¹ He was the son of Benjamin Bell of Blackethouse and Grizel Hamilton.¹ He married Margaret Jane Craigie, daughter of John Craigie of Glendoick, in September 1809.¹ He died on 19 June 1849.¹

     William Frederick Bell was born in March 1863.¹ He was the son of William Hamilton Bell and Barbara MacLaurin Monteath.¹ He married Valerie Morant, daughter of Major George Francis Morant.¹
