Reverend Arthur Frederick Pope was born on 4 February 1840.2 He was the son of Edward Pope and Augusta Bigge.2 He married Catherine Isabella Ellen Rose, daughter of Major James Rose, 23rd of Kilravock and Anna Maria Twemlow, on 30 July 1881.2 He was also reported to have been married on 31 July 1881.3 He died on 13 March 1921 at age 81.2
