     Juliet Eleanor Hugolyn Whitelocke was the daughter of Commander G. Whitelocke.¹ She married, firstly, Edward Colin Winter, son of Lt.-Col. Charles Edward Winter, before 1965.¹ She married, secondly, Sir Geoffrey Voltelin Bates, 5th Bt., son of Major Cecil Robert Bates and Hylda Madeleine Heath, in 1971.¹ She died on 21 April 2003.¹
     Juliet Eleanor Hugolyn Whitelocke usually went by her middle name of Hugolyn.¹ From before 1965, her married name became Winter.¹ From before 1971, her married name became Whitelocke-Winter.¹ From 1971, her married name became Bates.¹

     Commander G. Whitelocke lived at Cerrigllingdion Hall, Denbighshire, Wales.¹ He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.¹

     Edward Colin Winter was the son of Lt.-Col. Charles Edward Winter. He married Juliet Eleanor Hugolyn Whitelocke, daughter of Commander G. Whitelocke, before 1965.¹ He died on 24 June 1965.

     Timothy M. Radcliffe is the son of R. J. Radcliffe.¹ He married Celina Zoë Bates, daughter of Sir Geoffrey Voltelin Bates, 5th Bt. and Hon. Olivia Gwyneth Zoë FitzRoy, before 1993.¹

     Olivia Philippa Zoë Radcliffe was born in 1993.¹ She is the daughter of Timothy M. Radcliffe and Celina Zoë Bates.¹

     Major Cecil Robert Bates was born on 3 February 1882.¹ He was the son of Sir Edward Percy Bates, 2nd Bt. and Constance Elizabeth Graves.¹ He married Hylda Madeleine Heath, daughter of Sir James Heath, 1st and last Bt. and Euphemia Celina Van der Byl, on 27 June 1918.¹ He died on 5 March 1935 at age 53.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in 1914 in the Royal Field Artillery.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.¹

     Sir Edward Percy Bates, 2nd Bt. was born on 17 August 1845.¹ He was the son of Sir Edward Bates, 1st Bt. and Ellen Thompson.² He married Constance Elizabeth Graves, daughter of Samuel Robert Graves, on 20 April 1876.¹ He died on 31 December 1899 at age 54.¹
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Bates, of Bellefield, co. Lancaster [U.K., 1880] on 17 October 1896.² He lived at Gyrn Castle, Llanasa, Holywell, Flintshire, Wales^G.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Flintshire in 1899.¹

     Sir Percy Elly Bates, 4th Bt. was born on 12 May 1879.¹ He was the son of Sir Edward Percy Bates, 2nd Bt. and Constance Elizabeth Graves.¹ He married Mary Ann Lefroy, daughter of Very Rev. William Lefroy and Mary Ann MacIver, on 20 June 1907.¹ He died on 16 October 1946 at age 67.¹
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Bates, of Bellefield, co. Lancaster [U.K., 1880] on 6 March 1903.¹ He was chairman of the Cunard Steam Ship Company and Cunard White Star.¹ He was a director of Midland Bank.¹ He was a director of the Great-Western Railway.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Cheshire in 1920.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire (G.B.E.) in 1920.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Cheshire.¹ He gained the rank of Honorary Captain in 1935 in the Royal Naval Reserve.¹ He was admitted to Freeman of the City of London in 1935.¹ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.²
     

     Sir Edward Bertram Bates, 3rd Bt. was born on 7 March 1877.¹ He was the son of Sir Edward Percy Bates, 2nd Bt. and Constance Elizabeth Graves.¹ He died on 6 March 1903 at age 25, unmarried.¹
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Bates, of Bellefield, co. Lancaster [U.K., 1880] on 31 December 1899.¹ He lived at Manydown Park, Hampshire, England^G.¹ He lived at Gyrn Castle, Llanasa, Holywell, Flintshire, Wales^G.¹
