Major George Leopold Bryan, 4th Baron Bellew of Barmeath was born on 22 January 1857.1 He was the son of Edward Joseph Bellew, 2nd Baron Bellew of Barmeath and Augusta Mary Bryan.1 He married Elaine Carlisle Leach, daughter of John Benjamin Leach, on 9 April 1927.2 He died on 15 June 1935 at age 78 at London, EnglandG, without issue.2,3
He was given the name of George Leopold Bellew at birth.1 He fought in the Second Afghan War between 1878 and 1879.2 On 13 October 1880 his name was legally changed to George Leopold Bryan by Royal Licence, under the terms of the will of his uncle, George Leopold Bryan.1 He fought in the Nile Expedition between 1884 and 1885.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 10th Hussars.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 10th Hussars.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Kilkenny.2 He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1901.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Louth in 1902.2 He succeeded as the 4th Baron Bellew of Barmeath, co. General Ralph Gore, 1st and last Earl of Ross was born on 23 November 1725.2 He was the son of Sir Ralph Gore, 4th Bt. and Elizabeth Ashe.3 He married, firstly, Katherine Conolly, daughter of Rt. Hon. William Conolly and Lady Anne Wentworth, on 23 February 1754.4 He married, secondly, Alicia Clements, daughter of Rt. Hon. Nathaniel Clements and Hannah Gore, on 22 August 1773.5 He died in 1802, without surviving male issue.1
He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1744 in the 33rd Foot.2 He fought in the Battle of Fontenoy in 1745, where he was severely wounded.2 He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Gore, of Magherabegg, co.
