Sir Hugh FitzGerald Arbuthnot, 7th Bt. was born on 2 January 1922.1 He was the son of Brig.-Gen. Sir Dalrymple Arbuthnot, 5th Bt. and Alice Maud Arbuthnot.1,2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Kathleen Williams, daughter of S/Ldr. George Gilbert Algernon Williams and Kathleen Mary Ansell, on 17 August 1949.1 He married, secondly, Julia Grace Peake, daughter of Lt.-Col. Frederick Gerald Peake and Elspeth MacLean Ritchie, in 1977.1 He died on 3 July 1983 at age 61.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Welsh Guards.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Arbuthnot, of Edinburgh [U.K., 1823] on 30 June 1944.1 He was Master of Foxhounds, Ludlow between 1948 and 1952.1 He was Master of Foxhounds, Cotswold between 1952 and 1964.1 He was Master of Foxhounds, Duke of Buccleuch's between 1964 and 1983.1

Brig.-Gen. Sir Dalrymple Arbuthnot, 5th Bt. was born on 1 April 1867.1 He was the son of Major Sir William Wedderburn Arbuthnot, 3rd Bt. and Alice Margaret Tompson.1 He married Alice Maud Arbuthnot, daughter of Hugh Lyttleton Arbuthnot and Elizabeth Fountaine Walker, on 15 January 1918.2 He died on 31 March 1941 at age 73.1

Sir William Arbuthnot, 1st Bt. 2
He held the office of Lord Provost of Edinburgh from 1822 to 1823.1 He was created 1st Baronet Arbuthnot, of Edinburgh [U.K.] on 3 April 1823, He had held a banquet for the King, who supposedly enjoyed it so much that he awarded William a baronetcy rather than the traditional knighthood for the Lord Provost.1,2 He held the office of Secretary to the Board of Trustees for Manufactures.1
