     John Gordon of Scurdargue was born circa 1375.1 He was the son of Sir John Gordon and Elizabeth Cruickshank.2,3 He married Elizabeth Maitland, daughter of Robert Maitland of Netherdale.3 He died after 1418.2
     John Gordon of Scurdargue also went by the nick-name of Jock.3 He lived at Scurdargue, ScotlandG.2 He was ancestor of the Gordons of Pitlurg, Lesmoir, Buthlaw, Craig Park, Balbithan, Glenbucket, Buckie, Haddo and others.3

     Sir John Gordon was the son of John Gordon and Elizabeth (?)1,2 He died on 21 July 1388 at OtterburnG, killed in action, without legitimate issue.2
     He lived at Strathbogie, ScotlandG.1 He was also known as Joannes de Gordon.2 He was also known as John de Gordun.2 He and Elizabeth Cruickshank were associated in a 'handfast union.2' He fought in the Anglo-Scottish Wars between 1377 and 1388.2 On 13 July 1378 he had a grant of lands in Strathbogie, Aberdeenshire by King Robert II.2 In November 1378 he took Berwick by surprise with a handful of men.2 He fought in the Battle of Otterburn on 21 July 1388.2
