     Patrick Theobald Tower Butler, 18th/28th Baron Dunboyne was born on 27 January 1917.2 He was the son of FitzWalter George Probyn Butler, 17th/27th Baron Dunboyne and Isolde Butler Tower.2 He married Anne Marie Mallet, daughter of Sir Victor Alexander Louis Mallet and Christiana Jean Andreae, on 29 July 1950.2 He died on 19 May 2004 at age 87.2
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, EnglandG.3 He held the office of President of Cambridge Union in 1938.3 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1939 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He fought in the Second World War, and became a POW in 1940 and was repatriated in 1943.3 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in 1939 in the Irish Guards (SR.)3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1940 in the Irish Guards (SR.)3 He was with the Refugees Department, Foreign Office between 1945 and 1946.3 He succeeded as the 18th Baron Dunboyne, co. Meath [I., 1541] on 9 May 1945.3 He succeeded as the 28th Baron Dunboyne [I., 1324] on 9 May 1945.3 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1947 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)3 He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1949 entitled to practise as a barrister (and Harmsworth Scholar.)2 He wrote the book Cambridge Union 1815-1939, published 1953, co-author.3 He wrote the book The Trial of J. G. Haigh, published 1953.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1958 in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.3 He was Home Secretary's Commissioner for Ward-Boundaries between 1960 and 1970.3 He held the office of Recorder of Hastings between 1961 and 1971.3 He wrote the book Butler Family History, published 1966.3 He was admitted to King's Inns Dublin in 1966.3 He was president of the Wireless Telegraphy Appeal Tribunal of England and Wales between 1967 and 1970.3 He was president of the Irish Genealogical Research Society between 1971 and 1991.3 He held the office of Circuit Court Judge for Inner London between 1972 and 1986.3 He was awarded the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers' Decoration (V.R.D.) in 1987.2 He lived in 2003 at 36 Ormonde Gate, London, EnglandG.2 He lived in 2003 at The Tallat, West Ilkerton Farm, Lynton, Devon, EnglandG.3
