     He was educated at Uppingham School, Uppingham, Rutland, England^G.¹ He lived in 1999 at Alendale, Uckfield Lane, Hever, Kent, England^G.² He succeeded as the 5th Baron Mottistone, of Mottistone, co. Southampton [U.K., 1933] on 24 November 2011.
