Sir Walter Blount, 1st Bt. was born circa 1594.2 He was the son of Sir George Blount and Eleanor Norwood.3,2 He married Elizabeth Wylde, daughter of George Wylde and Frances Hudleston.2 He died on 27 August 1654 at Blagdon, Devon, EnglandG.2,4 He was buried on 29 August 1654 at Paignton, Devon, EnglandG.4
He matriculated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 12 October 1610.4 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1611.4 He held the office of Sheriff of Worcestershire from 1619 to 1620.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Droitwich from 1624 to 1625.2 He was created 1st Baronet Blount, of Sodington, co. Worcester [England] on 6 October 1642.3 In December 1645 at Hereford, Herefordshire, EnglandG, he was taken prisoner.4 On 2 November 1652 his estates were confiscated, and he was imprisoned at Oxford, and in the Tower of London, as a Royalist.2
