Edward Bootle-Wilbraham and Emily Ramsbottom, on 22 July 1869 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England^G.¹ He died on 31 January 1913 at age 65 at Cavendish Square, London, England^G.¹ He was buried on 4 February 1913 at Balcarres, Fife, Scotland^G.¹ His will was proven (by probate) in April 1913, at £436,279 gross and £321,509 net.¹

     Marianne Jean Elspeth Arbuthnott was born on 11 November 1937.¹ She is the daughter of Lt.-Col. Hugh Arbuthnott and Jess Agnes Henderson.¹ She married William Richard Woods Ballard, son of Lt.-Col. Basil Woods Ballard and Eileen Rose Molesworth, on 1 April 1967.¹
     From 1 April 1967, her married name became Woods Ballard.¹ She lived in 1999 at Oliver's Cottage, Capel St. Mary, Ipswich, Suffolk, England^G.¹

     William Cuninghame, 8th Earl of Glencairn was the son of James Cuninghame, 7th Earl of Glencairn and Margaret Campbell.² He married Lady Janet Kerr, daughter of Mark Kerr, 1st Earl of Lothian and Margaret Maxwell, circa 1609.¹ He died in October 1631.¹
     He succeeded as the 8th Lord Kilmaurs [S., 1464] circa March 1630.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Earl of Glencairn [S., 1488] circa March 1630.¹

     James Hay, 7th Lord Hay of Yester was born circa 1564.² He was the son of William Hay, 5th Lord Hay of Yester and Margaret Kerr.² He married Lady Margaret Kerr, daughter of Mark Kerr, 1st Earl of Lothian and Margaret Maxwell, before 6 August 1591.² He died on 3 February 1608/9.²
     He succeeded as the 7th Lord Hay of Yester [S., 1488] circa 29 May 1591.² On 29 May 1591 he had his brother's regrant confirmed.² He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) in 1603.²

     William Douglas, 1st Earl of Queensberry was the son of James Douglas, 8th of Drumlanrig and Mary Fleming.¹ He married Lady Isabel Kerr, daughter of Mark Kerr, 1st Earl of Lothian and Margaret Maxwell, circa 20 July 1603.¹ He died on 8 March 1639/40.¹
     He was appointed Knight circa 1612.¹ He held the office of Provost of Lincluden circa 1616.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Dumfries in 1620.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dumfries in 1623.¹ He was created 1st Viscount of Drumlanrig [Scotland] on 1 April 1628, with special remainder to his heirs male bearing the surname and arms of Douglas.² He was created 1st Lord Douglas of Hawick and Tibberis [Scotland] on 1 April 1628, with special remainder to his heirs male bearing the surname and arms of Douglas.¹ He was created 1st Earl of Queensberry [Scotland] on 13 June 1633, with special remainder to his heirs male bearing the surname and arms of Douglas.²

     John Borthwick, 8th Lord Borthwick was born circa 1583.^2,3 He was the son of James Borthwick, 7th Lord Borthwick and Margaret Hay.¹ He married Lady Lilias Kerr, daughter of Mark Kerr, 1st Earl of Lothian and Margaret Maxwell, before 1616.¹ He died in November 1623.¹
     He succeeded as the 8th Lord Borthwick [S., 1452] in December 1599.¹

     Hon. James Douglas was the son of William Douglas, 6th Earl of Morton and Lady Agnes Leslie.¹ He married by contract, firstly, Mary Kerr, daughter of Sir Thomas Kerr of Ferniehirst and Janet Kirkcaldy, on 6 November 1587.² He married by contract, secondly, Helen Scott, daughter of William Scott of Abbotshall, on 7 November 1598.² He married, thirdly, Jean Anstruther, daughter of Sir James Anstruther of Anstruther and Jean Scott, in 1609.¹
     He held the office of Commendator of Melrose.²

     Robert Douglas, 8th Earl of Morton was born before 1616.¹ He was the son of William Douglas, 7th Earl of Morton and Lady Anne Keith.¹ A contract for the marriage of Robert Douglas, 8th Earl of Morton and Elizabeth Villiers was signed on 28 April 1627.² He died on 12 November 1649.¹
     He succeeded as the 8th Earl of Morton [S., 1458] on 7 August 1648.¹
